Biography
Dea Birkett is a writer and broadcaster. Apart from a brief period
working as a secretary when she left school, and a Saturday job making
funeral wreaths, she has never really done anything else.
Dea was educated at Edinburgh University, Scotland, Dartmouth College,
New Hampshire, and the School of Oriental and African Studies, University
of London, where she gained a doctorate in African History.
She lives in London with her boyfriend and their three children.
